7-judge SC bench to examine criteria for quota in promotion

The Supreme Court on Wednesday said it would set up a seven-judge Constitution bench to re-examine the validity of the four-fold criteria laid down by a five-judge bench verdict in 2006 in M Nagaraj case for implementing reservation in promotion to employees belonging to SC/ST communities, who got jobs through quota.
