Centre enhances mid-day-meal programme with Rs 12,054 crore outlay

The Union Cabinet approves modifications in the national programme for mid-day meal (MDM) in schools with an outlay of Rs 12,054 crores for the 2019-20 in addition to the subsidy of about Rs 8,000 crore to be borne by the department of food and public distribution, on Tuesday.
